PLAZA DE PONCHOS-SHOPPING The center of Otavalo and only a few miles from the Lodge. Absolutely the best shopping in the country! There is a handicraft market each day but Saturday is the big day. Artisans from all regions of the country offer their crafts. Beware of the slick pickpockets! |

ANIMAL & LIVESTOCK MARKET Saturday only. Located on the panamerican highway on the west side of town. Get there early as the best deals happen between 6:00 and 8:00am See a Video |

PEGUCHE WATERFALLS About a one hour walk from the center of town. Find the railroad tracks east of town, head north following the tracks and the cobblestone road until they separate. Continue on the road up the hill and to the right into the park. Acres and acres of an eighty year old forest and lovely waterfalls. |
